I grew up in Helena and Billings where my parents have outdoor specialty stores called the Base Camp. We were always out and about camping, hiking, boating and skiing all over Montana and Wyoming. My dad was asked to write an article for the Helena Independent Record that was featured this last Thursday, April 8th on the front of the LIfestyle/Outdoor section of the paper. Here are a few photos of my mom Deb, dad, Scott,  younger sister, Cody, our two golden retrievers, Biner and Buster and of course, me! Everyone was packed up for our first backpacking trip in Elkhorn Mountains around 1982. I was 1 1/2. It cracks me up that my mom had to carry a duffel bag.
