Ahhh, the Gallatin Valley and summer in Montana, you just can't beat it. My absolute favorite time to photograph engagement sessions is the last hour and a half of sunlight. It's so magical! But, I must say, Laura and Grant are pretty magical clients too! What a handsome couple! I did however, officially blog way too many photos... there were just too many good ones! And not only did I fall in love with my clients, I fell in love with their dog, Trigger (shhh don't tell Lucca dog). He was incredibly well behaved so funny and rambunctious and a ham for the camera.

Laura and Grant are getting married this Friday! Congratulations you two! Can't wait for the wedding.0001bozemanportrait.jpg 0002bozemanportrait.jpg 0003bozemanportrait.jpg 0004bozemanportrait.jpg 0005bozemanportrait.jpg 0006bozemanportrait.jpg 0007bozemanportrait.jpg 0008bozemanportrait.jpg 0009bozemanportrait.jpg 0010bozemanportrait.jpg 0011bozemanportrait.jpg 0012bozemanportrait.jpg 0013bozemanportrait.jpg

Can you say GORGEOUS! Wow! So Martha and Blake made the trip over to Bozeman last week for their engagement session and of course, it was a beautiful, but rainy June day. It was the kind where the sun's in, then out, then in, then kaboom, a thunder storm. When we headed out for the session it started drizzling but it didn't stop us. We headed toward the sunshine, Southeast of Bozeman. It made for some dramatic skies and clean, crisp air. We finished up the session at Plonk where we had drinks and an appetizer. I had so much fun with them that I practically crashed their date night (sorry guys!). Martha and Blake, it was such a pleasure. I can't wait for the wedding later this July!  Cheers!

Ahhh, Montana in the spring! It is always so refreshing to see the green return. But with the green comes crazy spring weather, rain, hail, snow, sleet, wind, sunshine, rainbows then it happens all over again in a matter of hours.

Thankfully, the weather was pretty darn agreeable for Teresa and Aaron's engagement session a couple of weeks ago. The are the awesomous (yep, I made that word up) couple ever (I find myself feeling this way about all my wedding clients)! It is always fun to get to know the couples before the wedding day so we all can let our guard down a bit. These two are a blast. The session included lots of silliness, laughing and even a vacuum-toy gun fight!

Their wedding followed a couple of days after the engagement session. I'll have photos of the wedding soon. Stay posted!

Lauren and Stan are getting married this September at Laura's family guest ranch, the El Western just outside of Ennis, Montana. These two were in MT doing some final wedding planning, having family time, then heading on to their bachelorette and bachelor parties in other parts of the mainland.

Stan is Taiwanese, Lauren is a Montanan and now they reside in sunny warm Maui. They told me that they had a traditional Asian-style engagement photo shoot in Taiwan recently that lasted 14 hours and they had 7 outfit changes (holly molly)!!!! I got to see the album from the shoot which was absolutely stunning, really beautiful. Our shoot was only 2 hours but I think we still got some killer shots!

The day was very blustery and overcast. Actually, it was a pretty warm day for the end of March, in Montana (50 degrees) but the windchill really made it cold. We bucked up, braved the weather and had a blast taking photos all around the El Western and around Ennis. We had to take a couple breaks back at the homestead where Kris and John, Lauren's folks fixed us hot cocoa to help thaw our cold fingers. You'll see in their photos that they are a fun energetic couple. It was so much fun getting to know Stan, Lauren and Lauren's folks. I can not wait for their beautiful September wedding under the mountains and along the Madison River.

As you all may have noticed, my blogging was a bit lack luster last summer and fall. I must say, I do have a great excuse! I was expecting little Cecelia and was working super hard to get all my weddings wrapped up before our bundle of joy arrived. So, I'm playing catch up, which, I must admit has been fun. I love looking back at all the fun portrait sessions, commercial work and weddings I shot last year.

This is an engagement shoot I photographed of Jake and his beautiful fiance Heidi last July. Jake and I went to high school together. Heidi went to a different high school but we did play a little soccer together. It was so much fun cruising around Chico and paradise valley catching up. I can't believe how beautiful and green it was... the Montana winter must be wearing on me. I start craving COLOR this time of year.

Anyways, Jake and Heidi were just married last weekend in Billings. It was a fantastic, beautiful wedding. It was a blast photographing two wonderful Billings families and all their friends. It was quite the event! I'll be blogging photos of it soon. Stay posted!
