One of my favorite commercial clients, and now good friend, Jenny Christiansen makes the most beautiful jewelry. Her company is called Octavian Bloom. She sells her work and art fairs, at select retail locations and on Etsy. We get to collaborate a couple of times a year to document and promote her beautiful creations. This summer we had a blast shooting at a rail yard in Bozeman.

Ask and you shall receive... As I mentioned is the previous blog post, I have been wanting to do more and more children and baby portraits.. and VOILA!
I eat up every moment I spend with the kids and their families. Every time I do one of these shoots I walk away feeling refreshed and enlightened. I realize I actually learn from these little tykes.
Here are just a few things Quinten taught me:
Live in the moment
Appreciate everything, even the piece of grass, rock in the road and airplane in the sky
Embrace all of your emotions, as fleeting as they might be
Kisses and silly faces make everything better
It is really fun to roll in the grass and get dirty
Last but not least, adults are very silly

Now that I can call myself a mommy, I have been relating more and more to families, family portraits, and most importantly, kid and baby portraits. So, when my friend Amber (who is a fantastic stylist at Tonic in downtown Bozeman) mentioned she wanted to book a session for her cousins, Weston and Jessica, I couldn't wait.
Baby Weston is 9 months old and full of energy, spunk and personality. Jessica and Amber played, kissed and hugged the little guy the whole session. We even fit in a few shots of Dad before he headed to work. It was all so much fun! It made me realize, I want to do more baby and kid portraits!

Jenny and Lacey were married over the 4th of July weekend at Jenny's family ranch outside of Butte, Montana. It was a beautiful family gathering full of joy, love and excitement. Jenny and Lacey are a match made in heaven! There were so many amazing locations to photograph in and around, including the oldest barn in Montana! Amazing day! I am so excited I was able to capture the essence of this blissful event!

Kendra and Nick were married at the end of June at the Rainbow Ranch up in Big Sky. The weather can be a bit unpredictable that time of year, but to tell you the truth, it is my favorite time to shoot. The colors, spring flowers, sun and yes, rain. Rain makes it pretty! Kendra and Nick's day, however was beautiful and without rain. A perfect summer day, complete with blue sky, a rushing river, trout pond and gorgeous Rainbow Ranch Lodge as the backdrop. Miss Leslie Lukas did a stunning job on the coordination and flowers.
Kendra and Nick's friends and family gathered from around the country to witness and celebrate their union. What a perfect wedding. I always feel fortunate to get to be a part of such meaningful moments in peoples lives. Thank you Kendra and Nick!
