Montana Engagement Session ~ Chico

As you all may have noticed, my blogging was a bit lack luster last summer and fall. I must say, I do have a great excuse! I was expecting little Cecelia and was working super hard to get all my weddings wrapped up before our bundle of joy arrived. So, I'm playing catch up, which, I must admit has been fun. I love looking back at all the fun portrait sessions, commercial work and weddings I shot last year.

This is an engagement shoot I photographed of Jake and his beautiful fiance Heidi last July. Jake and I went to high school together. Heidi went to a different high school but we did play a little soccer together. It was so much fun cruising around Chico and paradise valley catching up. I can't believe how beautiful and green it was... the Montana winter must be wearing on me. I start craving COLOR this time of year.

Anyways, Jake and Heidi were just married last weekend in Billings. It was a fantastic, beautiful wedding. It was a blast photographing two wonderful Billings families and all their friends. It was quite the event! I'll be blogging photos of it soon. Stay posted!

Bozeman, Montana Maternity Portraits

Back in September Frances gave me a call wondering if she could schedule a maternity session with me. I was so excited to hear that she was due one day before I was! We scheduled to shoot in early October. It turned out to be a beautiful fall afternoon and I was so tickled to get to know Frances and Todd and chat all about the craziness of pregnancy. Long story short, now Frances and I are dear friends and get together weekly with our daughters and with a group of other new mommies. Congratulations Frances and Todd on your new baby girl, Chapin! I look forward to watching her grow.

I'm back... we'll sort of

So, I've started to come up for air from mommy land, well, sort of. I photographed Hilary and Tim's engagement session around Bozeman, Montana. It turned out to be the first time I was away from Cecelia for any extended period of time. I have to be honest, it felt great to be out shooting again. I am slowly but surely starting to work. Working from home
January 8, 2010
Cecelia and I have been settling into our new routine here at home. Its been interesting trying to juggle work and baby girl, but I'm managing.

Over the next few months I won't be taking on much work but will be taking bookings after March and potential client meetings if you would like to meet and take a look at more of my work.

Over the next few weeks I plan on blogging shoots from all last year, updating my wedding website and rebuilding my portrait site. I'll of course be brushing up my baby portrait skills photographing Miss Cecelia weekly.

Here are some of my latest favs at 3 weeks old. She's so funny when she just wakes up from a nap. Lots of stretching and funny faces.

The best Christmas present EVER!

She's here! She's here! Bill and I are so excited to announce the arrival of our baby girl, Cecelia Elizabeth McConnell. She was born Tuesday, December 15th at 4:54am here in Bozeman, Montana! She's absolutely perfect and Bill, myself and our families couldn't feel more blessed. She arrived just in time for Christmas.

So, as you might assume, I am going to be out of the studio on maternity leave for a while. I will however be taking appointments and bookings. Jennie Lynn, my fabulous associate will be in the studio a couple times a week filing print orders, shipping albums, relaying messages and keeping things running. Feel free to email me if you would like to get together. I have been checking my email but some days get a little full with a newborn, so just know I am doing my best to get back to you right away.

My oldest is 17 now and rushing around with bf's and singing. They grow up so fast and as we get older they seem to grow even faster so don't let the shutter stop for a second or you will miss the years.
